  • Represented multiple businesses in variety of industries in state and federal False Claims Act matters

  • Conducted internal investigation for district attorney’s office regarding personnel matters
  • Represented major cellular carrier in internal investigation and voluntary rebate to customers and disclosure to Public Utilities Commission
  • Defended winery in investigation by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms arising out of alleged labeling violations

Constitutional Law

  • Filed multiple amicus briefs in constitutional litigation in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court
  • Representing plaintiff firearms dealers in First Amendment challenge to law prohibiting on-site handgun advertising
  • Representing plaintiffs in appeal challenging the constitutionality of certain aspects of California’s 10-day firearm purchase waiting period law

Political and Election Law Matters

  • Represented multiple businesses in private enforcement actions for alleged violations of the California Political Reform Act
  • Represented a member of California Assembly in investigation by California Attorney General into the member’s residency qualification for office
  • Successfully defended state legislator in defamation action over campaign advertisement, and obtained order for payment of attorney’s fees under California’s anti-SLAPP statute
  • Representing county central committee in Fair Political Practices investigation
  • Represented multiple candidates in disputes over ballot designation
  • Represented electronic voting machine companies in dispute with Secretary of State over application of post-election audit regulations
  • Regularly provide advice on campaign finance compliance matters
